Everyone on Facebook, okay will probably not everyone since not everyone papercrafts, but everyone who papercrafts...well probably not everyone who papercrafts since some of them don't do mini albums...okay a few folks, were talking about Michaels having some 6x6 mini albums for like a fantastic price. My friend Carmen, who also tends to be my personal shopper, made a trip to Michaels to pick me up a few...okay more like 12 or something *okie suddenly remembers she owes Carmen some cards for that trip* because I knew I had some 6x6 pads that came in the Webster's Pages warehouse sale boxes and I thought those would be great for the projects.
Since that time I was organizing, as we all know I do frequently, and found that I have quite a few 6x6 pads! I have Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket *okie laughs because she spelled Cricut first and then had to change it*, K & Company, 7 Gypsies, and a few other companies little paper pads. I am not even really sure where they came from since those are not a size I generally buy and I know most of them probably had to come from some very kind people who sent them to me. I did some basic math and I think in order to use up all the pads I only need about 286 more of the mini albums and I will have all the 6x6 pads gone! I might have exaggerated a little here but I do know I am able to get at least 3 mini albums out of one of the stacks and that includes extra for matting pictures and dressing up the pages.

Here is the cover I did night before last and last night I almost completed the inside pages. Maybe I can get this one and another one done over the weekend.
I have made quite a few mini-albums over the years and I don't have not one to show for it. I always think I am going to keep one for myself and then wonder what I would do with it since I have scrapbooks full of pictures and I prefer big pages over little ones. I do think mini-albums are great gifts for folks who don't scrapbook but have a few pictures they would like to keep in a special place.
How many of ya'll do mini-albums?? Go ahead...discuss....
I do make a lot of mini albums also - I always think I can finish them much faster than my full size scrapping, but for some reason they can take a long time - I think I get bored and want to get on to another project so I put the mini albums aside instead of just finishing them!! LOL! BUT, it is great therapy so it doesn't really matter, does it?

I have done a few, but prefer 12x12 scrapbooks. Your work is so beautiful and it makes me think I "might" want to make another mini!
ReplyDeleteI bounce from thing to thing also. Mostly I do 12x12's but I did an 8x8 for each of my kids containing one picture per page of each birthday from birth through age 21. I gave it to them for their 22nd bday gift. (Okay, I'll be honest, maybe a little later, like 2 years on one of them...) The reason it took me a while is that I made 2 exact books because I knew they would need to pry it out of my hands, and this way, I got to keep one...(I have 3 kids so this was a little bit of a project) Anyhow, I also have done certain "events" as a small book. I used my cricut to cut house shaped pages to make a book of every house my hubby and I have ever lived in from birth to present. (Luckily neither of us moved a whole lot as kids :)) Anywhoo--possibilities are endless on the mini's, have fun!
ReplyDeleteI've done only a few and have given them as gifts, it takes me forever to scrap and I have an even harder time trying to do something without pictures. Even though I keep everything simple I never think I have enough embellishments! Your projects are alsways so well coordinate.
ReplyDeleteI have made several mini books. I think my favorite one that I did was my zoo one. If you'd like to see it, let me know and I'll post the pics for you
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you should mention it. I decided I'm going to make mini-album size Christmas recipie books to give the ladies at my Christmas party this year. I have one finished and am working on the next. Just 3 more to go after this one I'm working on. I look forward to seeing what all you've done to give me more ideas. You always have such GREAT projects !

I have made several mini books (mostly shaped ones) but love my 12x12 scrapbooks as I am able to include so many more pictures!!! Would love to see more of your mini books for inspiration!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Being more of a card-maker than a scrapper, I have NEVER tried to make a mini-album. Looks like fun, and maybe I need to try this. Thanks for the inspiration. BethAnn M.
ReplyDeleteWow, good ideas for mini books! I have only ever made one 8x8 for a grandparent gift. They loved it, so I should do it more!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the layering on the cover and the cute little chairs. Are those stamps? Anyway, in answer to your question. While I admire the mini albums that others make, no mini albums for this girl. Not enough scrappy real estate to work with. I don't like doing ATCs either for the very same reason. Give me a good old-fashioned 12 x 12 layout any day!
ReplyDeleteI like 12 x 12 because I never can decide what pictures to leave out. I have a few occasions that I only have a few pic from that I would like to try a mini.
ReplyDeleteLove to make mini albums!
ReplyDeleteYour projects are amazing and always seem to inspire me. I love the way you integrate so many different elements into your designs. Please post the finished product for us to see - and motivate us to keep on crafting!!
