This is the second card I chose to do featuring the Core'dinations Tim Holtz Kraft Core Paper Pack that Consumer Crafts sent me. I really am loving the use of the Tim Holtz Lost and Found paper stack with this stamp set. They just seem to go so well together.

I think I should have left off the "but" on the inside sentiment and I know I can go back and edit and reprint if I want later on but for now it will just have to do.
I used my Janome Sew Mini to add the stitching around the edge of the card. Before sewing I stamped the sentiment on the strip and then used removable adhesive to place the sentiment strip on the front of the card before sewing.
In the close up you can see a little bit of how the Coredinations Tim Holtz Kraft-Core distresses so well. I like the kraft color and think it adds a little more distressed look than the regular Coredinations cardstock.
I have to point out what I thought was pretty ingenious of me with this card...the large mat of the card is done with calendar patterned paper and then the inset mat is done with map printed paper. I thought these went well with the sentiment *okie waits for the applause and then bows graciously*. Yes I know, I do have a good idea every now and then!! *okie starts laughing and starts having a coughing fit* Guess that will teach me to toot my own horn!
I really love this card. All of the pieces came together in a wonderful way.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are back to 100%, I was sorry to hear you were under the weather.
Great card Okie! Love it...good sign that your crafting! Must be feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI am applauding for you all the way in California. Can you hear me? Great card!! I love Tim Holtz stuff and love this paper and sentiment.
ReplyDeleteYou have a GNOME sewing machine! ROTFLMAO!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! Love the card :) I think Okie got her groove back
ReplyDeleteI used this sentiment yesterday on a card and wound up cutting it out freehand to follow the curves. It's going to be a stretch for me to figure out a good way to include it onto an A2 card front.
ReplyDeleteI like this arrangement. The rectangle shape of the clock face looks good mounted on the cutout you used!
Yes Okie You are ingenious! Applause to follow.... :o)
ReplyDeleteI really do like this card... it's a very cool style with the clock and papers.... Very antique looking.... which is what you were going for anyway! :o)

Love your papers. The prints and the colors are great.
ReplyDeleteOkie, I am applauding for you too! The colors and patterns look great together. I like these more masculine cards. Always so hard to make a "Manly" card.
ReplyDeleteAnother Beautiful Card Okie! Everything just pairs together perfectly. Smooches... Felicia
